Pete and I had plans to go to my nephews (twins) high school graduations party on Saturday, it's around a 30 mile trip one way. He asked me if we should take the truck or the car. I thought about it for a second and said the truck. We had a great time visiting with everyone and while we were there my mom and I decided that I might come by on Sunday.
Sunday comes... Pete had gone fishing with his son and took the truck of coarse. But when I woke up, I really didn't feel like going anywhere. So I stayed home and did some things around the house, and cleaned out the interior of my car.
When Pete came home he helped me finish up the car. He really didn't feel like cooking anything for dinner (yes, the hubby cooks and he loves it and so do I) So we decided on Taco Bell and I suggested he take the car... and he did.
(Hold on - this is where it get's interesting)
I get a call about 5 minutes after he leaves...he is up at the gas station...the car is leaking antifreeze and it's all over the engine. So I call for a tow and the car is brought back home.
So, now let's look at what just happened to us from another angle:
1. We decided to take the truck instead of the car on Saturday. If we had taken the car, we would have missed the graduation party and Pete would have missed out on going fishing with his son the next day because we would've been trying to fix the car.
2. I decided to stay home on Sunday. If I had decided to visit my mom I would have been the one at the gas station calling the hubby and telling him what happened, he would have cut his fishing day short to come home to try to fix the car.
Now, I don't know about you, but I believe that this was not just luck... I believe that everything always works out for us. The Universe/God whatever you want to call has always got our back. In the little things as well as the big things...you just need to pay attention.
What do you think?
