| I used to think so - and I know that many people do believe that Hell and the Devil are real. I do not. I do understand why people would believe this to be true. When you're raised in any society that talks about going to Heaven or Hell, good and evil or right and wrong these ideas soak into your brain - pretty much you begin to believe it even though you really have no idea why. The idea of going to Hell in my opinion is used as a scare tactic to control the way you act and behave. |
As I now see it the only real hell is the hell we create from our own thoughts. It's how we think about others, how we think about the world we live in that produce's our own private heaven or hell in our life right now. When you judge a situation or think of others in a negative way you create that feeling within yourself. On the other hand, when you think positive and uplifting thoughts about others or the world, you create that feeling with yourself. How you feel about anyone or anything will create/bring more of that same feeling stuff into your personal world.
So if you want to be controlled by the fear that you may end up in "hell" and live the way others want you to - by all means go ahead, it is your choice.
However, if you want to shake free from this fear based idea then you really should re-consider who you are talking to and listening to.
Simply put: If it doesn't feel good to you - then it's not for you.
I've posted a video below on what a priest has to say about this same subject.
As always - Think about it.
